The SAMAJAM African Drum Workshop is a 100% participatory musical experience, ideal for any group looking to have fun while building team spirit. It offers the perfect opportunity for a fun and original team-building experience, based on the energy and richness of African culture.

Under the guidance of a master African percussionist, participants explore the origins of this instrument, discover its main components, learn the correct posture for playing and get to grips with basic techniques. They quickly learn to produce authentic, captivating African sounds and rhythms as a group.

The African Drum Workshop has been offered by SAMAJAM for over 20 years. It requires no prior musical skills. It offers a true initiation to collective music, stimulating team cohesion and transforming a group of individuals into an entity united by listening, complicity and cooperation.

Through playful collective participation, perfecting their rhythmic skills and deepening their appreciation of a part of African musical culture, they embark on a musical journey that is both authentic and memorable, telling a fascinating rhythmic story.

An essential classic in the corporate environment in Quebec

1. Play collectively:Participants will learn how to play the djembe, a traditional African drum, in a fun and collective way. No prior musical skills are required; all that counts is the enthusiasm of sharing a strong and vibrant experience together.

  1. 2. Active participation: Each participant transforms into an essential actor in this collaborative musical adventure, immersing themselves in a rhythmic and energizing exploration that lasts between 30 to 90 minutes.

3. Unity Experience: Participants will discover the unifying impact of collective drumming, highlighting the importance of active listening, collaboration and communication. This non-competitive adventure promotes personal expression and strengthens group cohesion.

4. Professional guidance: Throughout the experience, they will be guided by a master percussionist of African origin from SAMAJAM, who benefits from a wealth of experience both on stage and in leading groups. His experience in Africa, his passion, his charisma and his mastery of African rhythmic art bring a unique dimension to the workshop.

5. Fully engaging activity: Once the basics are explained, participants will be asked to play for approximately 90% of the experience. This is thus highly interactive and participatory, with each participant being encouraged to fully express themselves through the playing of the djembe.
