Drummer and/or Multidisciplinary Percussionist wanted!

The Multidisciplinary Drummer / Percussionist plays a leading role in SAMAJAM’s many shows and workshops, which combine music, humor, celebration, education and, of course, collective audience participation. A true spokesperson and rhythmic driving force behind our productions, he/she contributes to energizing immersive musical experiences in our various sectors in Quebec, Canada and internationally.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Performing and leading shows and workshops in the following contexts:

• Schools (participatory educational shows)
• Corporate sector (team building, workshops, shows)
• Broadcasting / festivals (live shows)
• International tours

Play drums and/or percussion according to show format: school, corporate, festival, international, acoustic, with sequences, or in rock band formation as needed.

Be able to animate, interact, and maintain a strong charismatic connection with the audience, in a high-energy, fully participative, musical setting.

Follow a precise staging including learning a script, musical scores, integrating simple choreography and participating in comic scenes.

YOUR EXPERIENCE TO DEPLOY

• Five (5) years’ experience in a relevant field related to sales, customer service and business development
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent command of spoken and written French and English
• Proficiency in Office suite: World, Excel and PPT
• Knowledge of working with a CRM
• Ability to work with creative and passionate international teams
• Experience of promotion on the main social networks
• Occasional flexibility in working hours
• University degree an asset

PROFILE REQUIRED

A positive, energetic person, perfectly bilingual and very autonomous, who contributes with her dynamism and radiant presence to spreading SAMAJAM participative musical shows all over the world:

• Drummer and/or percussionist, with excellent and varied rhythmic knowledge, and able to read sheet music (an asset)
• Ability to perform energetically, embody stage personas and adapt to different styles of shows and audiences
• Comfortable participating in simple choreography and comedic acting
• Excellent physical fitness and cardiovascular endurance
• Ready to tour for a few weeks at a time
• Fluency in French and English
• Must have a driver’s license

SUPERB WORKING CONDITIONS

• Permanent full-time position (40 hours/week)
• Variable hours, depending on production and tour schedule
• Salary according to experience
