The African Percussion Workshop offered by SAMAJAM is an educational and 100% participatory experience where each student receives a tam-tam (djembe).
Under the guidance of a master percussionist, they explore the origins of this instrument, learn its main components, the proper posture for playing, as well as basic playing techniques. They are led to produce authentic and captivating African sounds and rhythms.
In this fun and educational workshop, the participatory aspect encourages the students’ collective musical collaboration, while developing their sense of rhythm and coordination. By perfecting their rhythmic skills, awakening their creativity and deepening their appreciation of a segment of African musical culture, students embark on a musical journey that is both authentic and memorable.
The drums then become their collective voice, telling a fascinating rhythmic story.

The SAMAJAM Percussion Circle (Drum Circle) Workshop is an immersive, captivating and 100% participatory musical experience, producing a spontaneous, rhythmic symphony. Each participant, equipped with the percussion instrument of his or her choice – be it a drum, bongo, cymbal, bell, clavé, musical tube or shaker – becomes an essential link in this collective success.

Guided by SAMAJAM’s experienced artists, the youngsters set about creating collaborative, spontaneous music. This workshop, which requires no prior musical skills, creates a unique environment that fosters creativity, active listening and cooperation. Each participant is invited to fully engage in the collective symphony of percussion, discovering the vital role of their individual commitment within the group.
Much more than just entertainment, this workshop proves to be a real catalyst for group dynamics, fostering the development of social and artistic skills. ✩ Collective rhythmic creations
The SAMAJAM Musical Tubes™ Workshop offers a stimulating, 100% participatory educational adventure. Each student has the opportunity to choose one or more Musical Tubes, colorful and fun percussion instruments from the idiophone family. These instruments produce the sounds of the C major scale (C – D – E – F – G, etc.), and are color-coded for intuitive, fast and incredibly entertaining learning.
Guided by an experienced instructor, students explore the sonic potential of these instruments, learning a variety of playing techniques and exploring a wide range of rhythmic patterns, and creating musical pieces. The workshop aims to familiarize students with key concepts such as rhythm, tempo, harmony and musical expression, inviting them to engage in the creation of collective compositions in a variety of musical styles.< /p>
The workshop, using a simple and easy-to-play scale, facilitates successful group music creation. Encouraging the active engagement of each student, it stimulates collective rhythmic creation and promotes the development of essential skills such as coordination, musical listening, creative teamwork, as well as the confidence to express oneself in a group.< /p>

The SAMAJAM Bucket Drumming Workshop is a musical, educational and 100% participatory experience that allows students to discover several rhythms using buckets transformed into percussion instruments.</ p>
Under the direction of an experienced percussionist, they explore various musical skills in a very dynamic way, develop their sense of rhythm and collective coordination, improvise, and participate in games educational and fun rhythms. With the sticks, they learn several forms and styles of rhythms, ranging from rock to reggae, including shuffle and funk.

The Tambourines Workshop offered by SAMAJAM is an educational and 100% participatory experience where each student receives one of five choices of tambourines, all of which are played with the strike of a stick .
Under the guidance of an experienced facilitator, they learn the main components of this instrument, the correct posture for playing, as well as basic playing techniques. They are led to produce complementary sounds and vibrant and stimulating rhythms.
During this educational and fun workshop, the participatory aspect encourages collective musical collaboration among students, while developing their sense of rhythm and coordination. Through perfecting their rhythmic skills, awakening their musical interest, and deepening their appreciation of a segment of universal musical culture, students embark on an exciting rhythmic journey.

6 > CUBAN KEYS
✩ A Cuban heartbeat!
The Cuban Clavé Workshop, offered by SAMAJAM, is a 100% participatory educational musical experience. Each student receives two clavé sticks in this workshop. When struck together, they create a characteristic rhythm, which evokes the fascinating Cuban musical style.
Guided by an experienced facilitator, students delve into the origins of this Cuban rhythm, which is fundamental to many genres of Latin music. The 100% participatory nature of the workshop promotes collective musical collaboration, while contributing to the development of their sense of rhythm and coordination. They also discover the two main clavé patterns used in Afro-Cuban music.
The workshop provides a musical journey for students, allowing them to hone their rhythmic skills and deepen their appreciation of this important aspect of Cuban musical culture. Beyond developing their rhythmic skills, they gain a cultural appreciation that enriches their musical experience.

The SAMAJAM Body Percussion Workshop is an educational and 100% participatory experience of unique dance and movement, which invites you to discover the power of music simply using your body as instrument. Through rhythmic clapping of hands and feet, students will learn to produce fascinating sounds and rhythms.
Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, students learn different body percussion techniques, developing their sense of rhythm and coordination, while exploring sounds, rhythms and the creative movements they can produce.

The SAMAJAM Capoeira Workshop is an educational and 100% participatory experience that immerses students in the fascinating world of Capoeira, a dance incorporating Brazilian martial arts. Guided by an experienced Capoeira instructor, they will be introduced to acrobatic movements, fascinating dance techniques, and rich musical rhythms that characterize this discipline.
The workshop encourages active participation, thus promoting the development of coordination, agility and self-confidence of participants. Everything takes place to the sound of traditional Capoeira music, such as berimbau and atabaque, creating an authentically rhythmic atmosphere.
Mixing grace, strength and musicality, this workshop also offers an immersion in the values conveyed by Capoeira, notably respect, camaraderie, improvement of physical condition and the coordination. The balance between play and healthy collaborative competition is also emphasized, offering an enriching and unique experience linked to this aspect of Brazilian culture.

The Maculelê Workshop, offered by SAMAJAM, is an educational and participatory experience that immerses students in the heart of this unique Afro-Brazilian dance form. Equipped with long sticks called grimas, participants are guided by an experienced dancer-instructor in a lively practice, mixing characteristic acrobatic movements and catchy rhythms.
During this moving workshop, students explore the history of dance, learn about traditional Brazilian songs, and simultaneously strengthen their coordination and bodily expression .
Additionally, with an emphasis on participation, this workshop encourages students to engage in group choreography, master baton striking techniques, and participate in traditional songs. This interactive experience helps to strengthen their confidence in their ability to express themselves in a group, while allowing them to immerse themselves in a rich segment of Brazilian culture.
